Since 7 October 2023 The Israeli figure is built to avoid double counting: 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals killed on 7 October 2023 (National Insurance Institute, December 2023 — 695 civilians, 283 IDF, 71 foreign nationals, 57 police, 10 Shin Bet), plus the 802 further security personnel implied by the Ministry of Defense's count of 1,152 killed in total by October 2025 once the 350 killed on 7 October itself are removed. Israeli civilians killed after 7 October by rocket fire and attacks are not included, so the Israeli figure is a floor too. The Palestinian figure runs to September 2026 and the Israeli figure to October 2025.
