106 primary sources, 101 bibliography entries

The evidentiary base of the record: courts, UN bodies, human rights organisations, peer-reviewed research, open datasets, declassified archives and the Israeli press. Sources are grouped by the weight they carry, not by convenience. Every claim in the report is anchored to a source of one of these classes.

The evidentiary base

What the record rests on

Findings by courts and mandated inquiries sit at the top of this hierarchy; field documentation and the Israeli press sit alongside them because admissions against interest carry their own weight.

Sources by class

Counts are of the linked entries below, not of every citation in the report.

The library

Every source, linked

Filter by class, or search titles, organisations and notes. Links open the authoritative publisher, not an aggregator.

106 of 106 sources

Courts and tribunals

Judgments, orders and advisory opinions. The highest evidentiary class in this record: findings of fact and law by the bodies competent to make them. Domestic judgments are listed here only where a question raised in this record has actually been litigated to judgment in a national court.

United Nations bodies

Commissions of inquiry, treaty bodies, special procedures and operational agencies. Mandated, methodologically documented, and published under institutional accountability.

Human rights organisations

Investigations with documented methodology by the organisations with the longest field presence. Israeli and Palestinian organisations are listed alongside the international ones because their findings converge.

Statement and incitement databases

Structured, continuously updated registers of the statement record. Both compile from publicly available primary sources and leave the legal determination to the courts.

Open datasets

Machine-readable series used to build the charts in this dashboard. Where a series is aggregated or interpolated, the chart note says so.

  • Tech For Palestine · October 2023 –
Public-domain aggregation of Gaza Ministry of Health, Government Media Office and West Bank figures. The source of the monthly and cumulative series on the Data view.
  • Tech For Palestine · continuous
Build pipeline, schemas and caveats on completeness for the datasets above.
  • UN OCHA occupied Palestinian territory · 2008 –
The verified fatality database covering 2008 onward. Published through an interactive dashboard rather than a public API, so pre-2023 annual figures in this record are cited individually.
  • B'Tselem · 2000 –
Per-person records with date, location, age, and the circumstances of each killing.
  • ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project) · continuous
Geolocated event-level data used for cross-checking incident counts and locations.
  • Airwars · 2023 –
Incident-by-incident open-source assessment of civilian harm from specific strikes.
  • Committee to Protect Journalists · continuous
The independent count of journalists and media workers killed.
  • Corey Scher (CUNY) and Jamon Van Den Hoek (Oregon State University) · 2023 –
Synthetic-aperture-radar damage proxy mapping, the independent academic corroboration of UNOSAT's assessments.
  • Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) · June 2024
The only cumulative figure published by the Palestinian statistical authority: 136,000 Palestinians killed since 1948. The period-by-period basis has not been published.
  • Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) · March 2025
The standard open register of state-to-state major-weapons transfers. Source for the supplier shares used in the complicity ledger: 66 per cent of Israeli major arms imports in 2020–2024 from the United States and 33 per cent from Germany.
  • Dag Hammarskjöld Library, United Nations · updated continuously
The complete record of vetoes cast in the Security Council since 1946, by member and by draft resolution. Source for the veto wall: 49 United States vetoes of draft resolutions concerning Israel and Palestine, the largest single-subject block in the Council's history.

Peer-reviewed research

Published, methodologically transparent research — principally on mortality estimation, where the difference between recorded and actual death tolls is the central empirical question.

Israeli sources

Israeli journalism, official statements and leaked internal material. Under this record's evidentiary rule, admissions by the state and its press carry the greatest weight against the state.

  • Haaretz · continuous
Including the human-shields investigation (13 August 2024), the leaked Maj. Gen. Bluth briefing (4 May 2026), the Geocartography/Penn State polling (March 2025), and Ehud Olmert's ethnic-cleansing columns (June 2026).
  • +972 Magazine (Israeli–Palestinian) · continuous
Including the 'Lavender' and 'Where's Daddy?' investigations into AI-assisted targeting, sourced to serving Israeli intelligence officers.
  • Local Call · continuous
The Hebrew-language partner publication to +972, and the route by which several investigations first appeared in Hebrew.
  • The Times of Israel · continuous
The most complete English-language record of ministerial statements, Knesset proceedings and IDF announcements.
  • Channel 12 (N12), Israel · continuous
Publisher of the leaked Haliva briefing recording (August 2025) and the police command-room footage from 7 October (February 2026).
  • Ynet · continuous
Including the Katz depopulation remarks at the Ynet conference (September 2026) and the 1983 Eitan interview.
  • The Knesset · continuous
Including the February 2025 Ethics Committee ruling that calling Palestinians 'subhumans' and calling to 'kill all adult men' did not violate Knesset ethical standards.
  • Israeli Ministry of Defence and the IDF Spokesperson's Unit · continuous
The primary record for the siege orders of October 2023 and subsequent operational announcements.
  • Yesh Din — Volunteers for Human Rights · 2003–
The military-justice funnel, from Israeli military records: 2,427 complaints between 2016 and 2024 produced 552 investigations (22.7%) and 23 indictments (0.9%). Yesh Din puts the probability of prosecution for killing a Palestinian at 0.4%.

Investigative journalism

International investigations that established facts not otherwise in the public record.

  • The Guardian · continuous
Including the joint investigations with +972 and Local Call on AI-assisted targeting and the secret systems reporting.
  • Declassified UK · continuous
Source, with Action on Armed Violence, of the record of 600+ RAF surveillance flights over Gaza (December 2023 – October 2025).
  • Action on Armed Violence · continuous
Including the call for UK sanctions on Moshe Feiglin over the May 2025 remarks on Gaza's children.
  • Al Jazeera · continuous
The most continuous on-the-ground reporting from Gaza; its Sanad verification unit is cited throughout the record.
  • Middle East Eye · continuous
Source for several Knesset-floor statements, including the Waldiger exchange of 13 May 2025.
  • Reuters and Associated Press · continuous
Used for cross-corroboration: this record requires at least two independent sources for every new statistic.

Declassified and primary archives

Contemporaneous documents rather than later accounts of them.

  • Ben-Gurion Archives, Sde Boker · 1937–1948
Primary source for the transfer material of 1937, including the diary entry of 12 July 1937.

  • J50 Forum, published by the European Jewish Congress · 11 September 2026
Primary text and full signatory list: seven global and regional organisations and fifty-two national and community organisations across forty countries. Reaffirms the IHRA working definition and declares anti-Zionism, as defined in the operative paragraph, antisemitic. Creates no legal obligation.

Method

How this dashboard was built

No gaps

build.py parses report-final.md into structured JSON, emitting every heading, paragraph, list item and table. verify.py then reconciles every non-blank line of the source against the output; it currently reports zero missing fragments. The Evidence section renders that JSON in full, so what you read there is the report itself, not a summary of it.

Time-series data

fetch_timeseries.py downloads the Tech For Palestine daily datasets (1,070 daily records, October 2023 – September 2026) and aggregates them to monthly series. Their cumulative totals corroborate the figures cited independently in the report: 73,670 killed as of 2026-09-10.

Corroboration

Every statistic must appear in at least two independent sources before it enters the record. Where sources disagree, the more recent and better-documented figure is used and the disagreement is stated. Where a figure is an estimate rather than a count — as with the mortality studies — it is labelled as one.
