Pull the thread

Every curated claim on this site, joined to the bodies it rests on. Source strings are normalised to entities with stable identifiers, and each entity is classified by who controls the body that published it — not by where it files its accounts. That classification is what makes the switch below possible: reject a whole class of source, and read what still stands on the rest.

416
Curated claims
every figure, statement, determination and record entry that carries a source, across 13 data files
127
Distinct sources
source strings normalised to entities, each with a stable identifier and a classified origin
135
Claims on two or more classes of source
a figure attested by bodies with no common controller does not fall when one of them is rejected
52.9%
Still standing at the hardest setting

The adversary switch

Reject a class of source, and recount

The commonest objection to a record like this one is not that a figure is wrong. It is that a class of source cannot be trusted. The answer here is not to defend the source but to remove it. Each setting deletes every body of that class and recounts what is left: a claim stands if it still has one source outside the classes removed, and falls if it does not. Nothing else on the page changes.

Every source in place. 412 of 416 claims carry at least one; 135 of them rest on two or more classes of source at once.

What survives each rejection

The share of attributed claims that still rest on at least one source outside the class removed.

The classes

Who controls the body that published it

Sources are classified by controller, because that is what the objection is actually about. A claim counts once for a class however many of that class’s bodies it cites.

Claims by class of source

A claim resting on bodies of several classes is counted under each, so these do not sum to the total.
