The IDF general commanding the West Bank called it a pogrom. Smotrich, the minister with authority over the Civil Administration, said the state should do the wiping out.

Open letter to Secretary-General António Guterres and High Representative Miguel Ángel Moratinos, signed by sixty organisations on 3 April and by 104 by 20 April 2023. It states that antisemitism “poses real harm to Jewish communities around the world and requires meaningful action to combat it”, and objects that the IHRA working definition “has often been used to wrongly label criticism of Israel as antisemitic”. It names the Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism and the Nexus Document as alternatives. Signatories include Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the ACLU, Al-Haq and FIDH, together with the Israeli organisations B'Tselem and Breaking the Silence and the American Jewish organisation Americans for Peace Now. A counter-letter of 17 May 2023, signed by more than 160 Jewish communal and civil society organisations, urged the opposite course, calling the definition “an indispensable tool”. See §21.9.

The largest West Bank operation since 2002: air strikes, bulldozed infrastructure and some 3,000 displaced, three months before the war.

At least 38 Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since the start of 2023, the deadliest year since records began and the second consecutive record year after the 36 killed in 2022. The organisation put the rate at more than one Palestinian child killed per week. The count came from OCHA's database, which recorded 36 children killed to 31 August 2023, plus two deaths on 5 and 9 September recorded by the Palestinian Ministry of Health and Defense for Children International and confirmed by the UN as verified. OCHA's closing figures for 2023 record 507 Palestinians killed in the West Bank including 81 children, of whom 208 and 42 respectively were killed before the war began.

Abbas Kamel warns that Hamas appears to be preparing a major attack, as reported three years later by The Atlantic; the Prime Minister's Office denies any meeting or warning (§18.7).

2023 was already the deadliest year on record in the West Bank before the war began (OCHA).

On the account of the Eldar-Yuval book excerpted in Haaretz (September 2026), Qatar's Prime Minister told the Mossad Director that evening that Hamas was ready to release all civilian hostages through Qatari mediation, and was told Israel was not prepared to speak with Hamas. Disputed by Barnea's associates; not confirmed by an Israeli official (report §18.7).

Asked on LBC whether a siege was appropriate — “cutting off power, cutting off water” — Sir Keir Starmer replied “I think that Israel does have that right.” On 20 October he said he had not meant that Israel could cut off water, food, fuel or medicines. He became Prime Minister nine months later; the ICC charged starvation of civilians as a method of warfare on 21 November 2024.

The White House says the same evening that neither he nor any US official had seen such pictures or confirmed the reports (§18.8).

An Israeli strike hit a building adjoining the Greek Orthodox church in Gaza City, where about 500 displaced Muslims and Christians were sheltering. The standard count is 18 killed; Airwars identified at least 23 civilians by name, including ten children, eight women and five men of the al-Amash, al-Souri and al-Tarazi families. The Israeli military said it had struck a Hamas command and control centre and that the church was not the target. The original fabric of the building dates to 425 AD.

Arabic speakers show the sheet lists the days of the week, not names; the IDF blames "a mistake in the translation" (Rebuttal 25).

During Elon Musk's visit to Israel, Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi announced a “principle understanding” that Starlink units would operate in Gaza only with the approval of Israel's Ministry of Communications. By February 2024 the one authorised deployment was a terminal at the Emirati field hospital in Rafah, at a time when Israeli bombardment had repeatedly severed Gaza's terrestrial networks.

Yotam Haim, Alon Shamriz and Samer Talalka; the IDF accepts responsibility on 28 December (§18.6).

Nahida Khalil Anton, 70, and her daughter Samar Kamal Anton, 50, were shot dead while walking inside the grounds of Gaza's only Catholic parish, which was sheltering 648 people. The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, stated that "a sniper of the IDF murdered two Christian women inside the Holy Family Parish in Gaza" and that seven more were wounded as they tried to shield others, with no warning given. The Israeli military denied targeting civilians and, in the account carried by Vatican News, asserted that a rocket launcher was present in the parish; no evidence for that assertion has been produced since.

None of the five named buildings connected to the tunnels, no access from the wards, no sign of military use in the rooms found (Rebuttal 25).

The company described the agreement as supplying technology for war-related missions. Palantir simultaneously holds at least 34 UK government contracts worth at least £670 million since 2020, including the NHS Federated Data Platform and contracts with the Atomic Weapons Establishment.

At a press conference the prime minister said he "will not compromise on full Israeli security control over all the territory west of the Jordan River", repeating a formulation he had used since 2017 and setting it out again in the "day after" plan he published the following month. The same territorial formulation, in other mouths, has produced censures and suspensions.

UNRWA dismisses those named before any investigation; the United Kingdom pauses funding (Rebuttal 24).

The six-page document alleges participation by twelve staff without the material it describes (Rebuttal 24).

IDF investigation of December 2024: deaths 'highly probable' related to the strike (§18.6).

The National Intelligence Council finds the claim plausible but unverifiable; Israel had not shared its raw intelligence (Rebuttal 24).

More than a thousand Jewish film-industry figures signed a letter denouncing the speech; more than 150, including Joaquin Phoenix, Joel Coen, Nan Goldin, Tom Stoppard and Elliott Gould, signed one supporting it (§23.4).

The Austin For Palestine Coalition initiated the boycott over the festival's listing of the United States Army as a "super sponsor" and the involvement of RTX, Collins Aerospace and BAE Systems. SXSW announced that the Army and the named weapons manufacturers would not sponsor its 2025 edition.

Finding that conditions had deteriorated since January, the Court ordered Israel to take all necessary and effective measures to ensure the unimpeded provision of basic services and humanitarian assistance at scale, including food, water, fuel and medical supplies, and to ensure its military does not violate the rights of Palestinians under the Convention.

Automatic fire began before the time the IDF gave for its warning shots; Israel declines to release the unedited drone footage (Rebuttal 26).

Amos Goldberg, professor of Holocaust history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, publishes "Yes, it is genocide" in Sicha Mekomit (Local Call), the first such determination written in Hebrew for an Israeli readership: "Yes, it is genocide. It is so difficult and painful to admit it, but despite all that, and despite all our efforts to think otherwise, after six months of brutal war we can no longer avoid this conclusion." Sol Salbe's English translation follows the next day. The UN Commission of Inquiry reaches the same conclusion on the full evidentiary standard seventeen months later.

The independent review of UNRWA's neutrality finds Israel had raised no concern about UNRWA staff lists since 2011 (Rebuttal 24).

Asked whether he supported Hamas, whether he regarded the assault on Gaza as genocide, and to name his Arab and Muslim friends in the United States; released after the contents of his telephone were copied. Pappé later clarified that the questioning agency was the Department of Homeland Security, not the FBI as first reported (§23.3).

More than a quarter of the line-up by the festival's opening day; organisers put the final figure at 151. The Bands Boycott Barclays campaign cited the bank's holdings in suppliers to the Israeli military. Barclays ceased to be a partner of the festival from 2025.

The Court ordered Israel to halt immediately its military offensive in Rafah, to keep the Rafah crossing open for humanitarian assistance at scale, and to admit investigators mandated to examine allegations of genocide. The offensive continued.

Surveillance, hacking, smears and alleged threats by the former Mossad chief against the then Prosecutor (§15.13).

Speaking on Kan 11 about the Israeli operation at al-Shifa Hospital, Halevi said that in the orthopaedic department “they caught 150 terrorists and then killed them,” and continued: “At the same time, 300 terrorists were born in the maternity ward. 300!” In the same interview he said there is “nothing called Palestinian people, never was, and will never be.” On 3 December 2024, 36 members of the European Parliament cited the remarks as “dehumanizing, and even genocidal” in asking that he be barred from the Parliament; the event went ahead. Recorded at §6.2 and Appendix C.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy announces £21 million to the House of Commons, citing the Colonna review (Rebuttal 24).

Of nineteen investigated, one case had no evidence and nine insufficient evidence; the nine are dismissed (Rebuttal 24).

Four of five Israeli units found to have committed gross human rights violations are declared to have 'effectively remediated' them; Netzah Yehuda, linked to the death in custody of US citizen Omar Assad, is separately declared eligible (§13.2A).

Foreign Secretary David Lammy told the Commons there was a clear risk the items might be used in a serious violation of international humanitarian law. Campaign Against Arms Trade later recorded £127.6 million of single-issue licences approved in October–December 2024, more than 2020 to 2023 combined; Declassified UK recorded 34 further licences approved in the two months after the suspension.

The official Instagram account of the State of Israel, @stateofisrael, published the backstage photograph taken at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on 28 September 2024, in which Ed Sheeran appears with Noa Argamani, the Israeli hostage held for 246 days and rescued on 8 June 2024, who attended as a guest of the music executive Scooter Braun. The caption read "We ❤️ this so much." and recorded that "Former hostage Noa Argamani met Ed Sheeran and Post Malone". The post carries approximately 60,400 likes and 852 comments and recirculated widely after Macklemore's removal from the Loop Tour on 14 September 2026. The photograph is not a political act by the artist and the attendance of a released hostage is not a political act either; what is recorded is the use made of it by a party to the conflict, which bears on the ground stated on 15 September 2026 that his silence should not be read as complicity (§15.12).

The designation under Executive Order 14115 describes a campaign of "killings, arson, assaults, and intimidation" intended to drive Palestinian communities out of the West Bank, citing the attacks on Turmus Ayya in June 2023 and al-Mughayyir in April 2024. The United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, Australia and Japan took materially similar measures, several of them also naming Lehava.

In a letter to Defence Minister Israel Katz, reported by Haaretz the following day, the signatories asked that the army destroy all water, food and energy sources in northern Gaza after besieging and displacing its residents, that anyone moving there who “doesn't come out with a white flag” be killed, and that the army then advance for a “complete cleansing of the enemy's nests.” Recorded at §6.2.

On his first day in office President Trump revoked the order under which the settler designations were made; on 24 January 2025 OFAC removed 17 Israeli individuals, nine entities and six outposts from the Specially Designated Nationals list. Marco Rubio had confirmed the intention at his confirmation hearing days earlier. The designations had described the conduct; the revocation removed the consequence, not the finding.

Segal's description left undisputed; in other places 'it was not given, and that is a problem' (§18.6).

Brokered by Peter Mandelson, then Ambassador to the United States, who retained a shareholding in the lobbying firm Global Counsel.

1,005 respondents; 45% and 31% on the first two questions in 2003 (§3.5D).

More than 400 people killed in a single night, the deadliest day since October 2023. Phase one had run to 1 March with its exchanges completed in eight rounds; the phase two negotiations the agreement required to open on the sixteenth day were never opened, and all goods had been halted on 2 March. Rebuttal 19.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum answers "shame" (Rebuttal 10).

Amit Halevi told the Foreign Affairs and Defence subcommittee that “there is no hungry person in Gaza, not even a single child,” responding to a model built on IDF figures finding that tens of thousands had no food at all or under 300 calories a day. In the closed portion of the same meeting the IDF conceded that “pockets of hunger” existed. Reported by Nir Hasson, Haaretz. Recorded at §6.2.

The signatories, including former Supreme Court Justices Lord Sumption and Lord Wilson, state that 'genocide is being perpetrated in Gaza or, at a minimum, there is a serious risk of genocide occurring' and that 'The UK's actions to date have failed to meet those standards.'

Four militarised sites, secured by armed private United States contractors inside Israeli-controlled perimeters, replaced the roughly 400 distribution points the UN-coordinated system had run during the ceasefire. UNRWA's Commissioner-General described the change as going from four hundred points to four. OHCHR went on to record the killing of people trying to collect food near those sites and along convoy routes: 613 by 27 June, 798 by 7 July, 1,373 by 31 July and more than 2,146 by 4 September 2025.

Amal Gaza, et al v. Blinken, et al seeks a court order compelling the Department to apply the Leahy Law to Israeli units as written (§13.2A).

An initial 600,000 displaced Palestinians from al-Mawasi, and eventually the whole population of Gaza, to be admitted after screening and not permitted to leave except by emigrating from the Strip.

Ehud Olmert: “It is a concentration camp. I am sorry.” Yair Lapid, conditionally, the same day. Sixteen Israeli law academics had written on 10 July that any order to advance the plan was manifestly illegal; the Chief of the General Staff told the High Court the army “does not impose forced population expulsions”. The plan was later reported shelved.

An Israeli munition hit Gaza's only Catholic church, where about 600 people were sheltering, killing Saad Salama, the 60-year-old parish janitor, Fumya Ayaad, 84, and Najwa Abu Dawood, 71, and injuring ten including the parish priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli. Prime Minister Netanyahu's office said Israel "deeply regrets that a stray ammunition hit Gaza's Holy Family Church" and the Foreign Ministry said the findings would be "published transparently"; survivors described a strike without warning and no published investigation has been identified since. Cardinal Pizzaballa and Patriarch Theophilos III entered Gaza together the following day.

Reuters reported an internal analysis by USAID's humanitarian bureau, completed in late June 2025, which examined 156 incidents of theft or loss of United States-funded supplies reported by partners between October 2023 and May 2025 and found no report alleging that Hamas had benefited. The analysis records that it could not assess whether recipients had been vetted. It is the rationale for the new distribution model, tested against the government's own record.

Chief executive Alex Beard told staff the production "will not be going to Israel." The letter, signed by 182 members of the company with 40 in their own names, stated "We reject any current or future performances in Israel" and, on the contrast with the institution's response to the invasion of Ukraine, "The double standard is deafening."

Ten official claims in three minutes, each tested against the record after Rebuttal 26: seven supported, three only in a more limited form.

Anas al-Sharif, Mohammed Qreiqeh, Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, Moamen Aliwa and Mohammad al-Khaldi were killed by a drone strike on a tent used by the press. The Israeli military said it had struck "the terrorist Anas Al-Sharif, who posed as a journalist"; no case was offered for the other five. The Committee to Protect Journalists had warned a month earlier that al-Sharif was the subject of a smear campaign. More than 190 journalists and media workers have been killed since October 2023.

Five days after the IPC confirmed famine in Gaza Governorate, every member of the Council except the United States signed a joint statement on the classification. The United Nations humanitarian chief, Tom Fletcher, called the evidence "irrefutable testimony", adding: "It is a famine, the Gaza famine."

Signatories include Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Tilda Swinton, Riz Ahmed, Ava DuVernay, Joaquin Phoenix, Javier Bardem, Ken Loach and Mark Ruffalo. Recorded at §15.12A.

Speakers included Florence Pugh, Nicola Coughlan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mehdi Hasan, Eric Cantona and UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese. No objection from the venue's owner was reported. Recorded at §15.12A.

Sadiq Khan, at People's Question Time: “I think it's inescapable to draw the conclusion in Gaza we are seeing before our very eyes a genocide.” Anas Sarwar had used the term earlier the same month. No serving Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary or Defence Secretary has done so.

More than 400 artists and labels joined at launch, passing 1,000 by November 2025. Participants include Massive Attack, Björk, Lorde, Fontaines D.C., Primal Scream and Kneecap.

Point 19 states that once redevelopment advances and Palestinian Authority reform is carried out, "the conditions may finally be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood, which we recognize as the aspiration of the Palestinian people". Neither Point 19 nor Point 20 mentions the West Bank. The Security Council endorsed the plan in Resolution 2803 on 17 November 2025.

Asked by Margaret Brennan about Point 19, Rubio said statehood could come only through a negotiated deal with Israel, that the United States "hasn't recognized" a Palestinian state and there is "no point in doing that" because it is not "even a realistic thing right now", and that Point 19 describes "a pathway long term and in the future" from which "we are far". Brennan reported that off camera he had clarified that President Trump still opposes Israeli annexation of the West Bank.

Francesca Albanese submitted “Gaza Genocide: a collective crime” (A/80/492) to the General Assembly, finding that influential third states sustained the genocide through diplomatic, military, “humanitarian” and economic support and in some cases active participation. Germany is particularised as the second-largest arms exporter of the period, supplying “from frigates to torpedoes”, and the United Kingdom by reference to more than 600 surveillance flights over Gaza. Recorded at §15.1B.

One bill would apply Israeli sovereignty to all West Bank settlements, the other to Ma'ale Adumim; Netanyahu reportedly told Likud members to abstain, and the bills faced further readings they were not expected to survive. The vote fell during Vice-President J.D. Vance's visit, who called it an insult to administration policy and said the West Bank will not be annexed; Rubio said the next day it was "not something we can be supportive of right now".

In Obligations of Israel in relation to the Presence and Activities of the United Nations (General List No. 196; A/80/502), requested by General Assembly resolution 79/232 with 137 states in favour, the Court held unanimously on most points, and ten to one on the rest with Vice-President Sebutinde dissenting, that Article 59 of the Fourth Geneva Convention obliges Israel to agree to and facilitate relief schemes, that an occupying power must use all means at its disposal to see relief distributed in a regular, fair and non-discriminatory manner, and that UNRWA's capacity “cannot be replaced on short notice and without proper transition plan”. Recorded at §15.1A.

The foundation closed after six months, having been called on to shut down by more than 165 humanitarian organisations. The distribution model it was created to replace — the UN-coordinated network of some 400 points — had been operating without the casualty toll recorded at its sites.

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office published a readout of a meeting in Jerusalem with Casey Wasserman, chairperson of the LA28 organising committee and founder of the agency that represents Ed Sheeran, Coldplay and Kendrick Lamar for live performance, recording that Netanyahu "congratulated Chairman Wasserman on his visit to Israel and thanked him for his great support for the State of Israel." The meeting took place three months after the UN Commission of Inquiry found genocide and thirteen months after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. Wasserman also met President Herzog, visited Kibbutz Be'eri and told the Israeli Olympic Committee that the security of the Israeli delegation was his "number one concern".

Hamas 'refuses to disarm, blocking progress towards the next stages of the peace plan' while 'at the same time Israel is restricting international NGOs, seriously jeopardising access to humanitarian aid.'

President Trump is designated chairman permanently, including after leaving office; non-contributing members hold a three-year mandate. Around 35 states committed of 60 invited, and several major Western allies stayed away. Annex I of Resolution 2803 names Tony Blair as the only member besides the chairman.

Reported by Haaretz, two years after Israeli intelligence sources said the army relied on the ministry's figures (Rebuttal 3).

A New York Times analysis published in January 2026 found that Israel had demolished more than 2,500 buildings in the three months following the ceasefire agreement of 10 October 2025. Demolition of property in occupied territory not rendered absolutely necessary by military operations is a grave breach under Article 147 of the Fourth Geneva Convention. (New York Times, January 2026, reported in Middle East Eye.)

Jewish Federations of North America / Burson, fielded March 2025 among more than 1,800 Jewish respondents: nearly nine in ten support Israel’s existence as a Jewish and democratic state, 71 per cent report emotional attachment, and the anti-Zionist share rises to 14 per cent among those aged 18–34 (§23.5).

R (Ammori) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2026] EWHC 292 (Admin), before Dame Victoria Sharp P, Swift J and Steyn J. The decision was taken outside the Home Secretary's own policy, and the interference with Articles 10 and 11 ECHR was disproportionate: "A very small number of Palestine Action's activities amounted to acts of terrorism within the definition of section 1 of the 2000 Act." The ban stayed in force pending argument on a stay.

The Department of Justice release made under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, more than three million documents, contained 2003 correspondence between Casey Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell and records of a flight on Epstein's aircraft. Wasserman has not been accused of any wrongdoing and said he deeply regrets the correspondence. Chappell Roan, Orville Peck, Weyes Blood, Laufey, bbno$, Gigi Perez and Abby Wambach left the agency; on 13 February he wrote to staff that he had "become a distraction" and had begun the process of selling the company. The Mayor of Los Angeles called on him to resign from the Olympic role; he said he intends to remain.

At least 910 gunshots over some two hours, at least eight at very close range, with no threat or exchange of fire (Rebuttal 26).

A man climbs the plinth before 4am and paints the statue, then tells the arriving officers he wanted to be arrested. He is held on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage and of supporting the proscribed Palestine Action, and is charged with a single count of criminal damage.

Human Rights Watch recorded that after the crossings were closed on 28 February 2026, four and a half months into the ceasefire, weekly aid truck deliveries fell from about 4,200 to 590. In the first eleven days of May only half the trucks arriving from Egypt were permitted to unload, and April's food distribution reached 75 per cent of minimum calorie requirements. Israel attributed the closures to tensions with Iran. (Human Rights Watch, 19 May 2026; OCHA.)

SIPRI's Trends in International Arms Transfers, 2025 put the United States at 42 per cent of global exports of major arms for 2021-25, up from 36 per cent in 2016-20, and recorded that the United States supplied 68 per cent of Israel's imports of major arms in the same period, with Germany supplying 31 per cent. Israel was itself the world's seventh largest exporter at 4.4 per cent. SIPRI noted that supplier states continued transfers throughout the period despite stated concern about the civilian death toll in Gaza and about violations of international law.

The military posts an edited image of Shoeib in a Hezbollah uniform and later admits it was edited (§19.7).

Third annual report of the Israeli organisation: 61 physical assaults, 52 attacks on church property, 28 cases of verbal harassment and 14 defacements of Christian signage, against 111 incidents in 2024 and 89 in 2023. The Religious Freedom Data Center counted 181 incidents independently, more than 80 per cent of them in Jerusalem.

Mandatory death by hanging before military courts, which try Palestinians alone; execution within 90 days of final judgment; no mitigation, commutation or pardon; the civilian-track offence is confined to killing aimed at "denying the existence of the State of Israel", which keeps Jewish attackers outside its reach. Initiated by Itamar Ben-Gvir's Otzma Yehudit; Netanyahu voted for it in person. Petitions were filed the same day by ACRI and by Adalah with PCATI, HaMoked, PHR-Israel and Gisha.

The Gaza government media office documented at least 2,400 Israeli violations of the ceasefire between 10 October 2025 and 10 April 2026, and published the breakdown: 1,109 air strikes and shelling attacks, and 921 separate shootings targeting civilians. By 14 May 2026 the associated toll stood at 857 Palestinians killed and 2,486 wounded, including 229 children according to UNICEF, with more than fifty people arbitrarily detained. The aggregate figure of 2,400 is recorded elsewhere in this chronology; what is added here is its composition, which distinguishes bombardment from the shooting of individuals. 'Inappropriate use of artificial intelligence'; the military points to Shoshani's 29 March post (§19.7).

The Board of Peace plan would have required Hamas to surrender its heavy weapons and hand over maps of its tunnel network within three months. Hamas rejected it and submitted a counter-offer conditioning any disarmament on guarantees for a sovereign Palestinian state, a halt to Israel's westward expansion within the Strip, an end to attacks on its fighters, and a complete ceasefire. The exchange is recorded because the disarmament sequencing dispute it opened runs through the Kushner-Netanyahu agreement of 17-18 August 2026 and the announcement of 30 July 2026. The CERD statement, released 1 May 2026, calls the law a grave human rights retrogression and an instance of segregation, notes that it applies de facto to Palestinians only, and calls on all States parties to ensure their own resources are not used to enforce discriminatory policies in the occupied territory. Israel ratified the Convention in 1979.

ACLED recorded more than 140 deaths from Israeli violence in Gaza in April 2026, the highest monthly total of the year, with violent events rising 35 per cent against March. The month included targeted assassinations, among them the head of Hamas's military intelligence, and attacks on police officers, police stations and security checkpoints, alongside drone strikes, shelling and gunfire near the Yellow Line. Israeli territorial control stood at roughly 58 per cent of the Strip, against the 53 per cent envisaged by the ceasefire map. (ACLED, Middle East Overview, May 2026.)

Verbatim statement to Major Garrett on repeated claims outrunning fact; verified against the full transcript (§15.11A).

The Associated Press recorded crowds chanting "Death to Arabs" and "May your villages burn" as they marched through the occupied Old City, with Israeli police cordoning the route. Israeli reporters recorded further chants, assaults on journalists, and notices taped to cash machines reading "Jewish owned, do not torch". Settlers burned a mosque and vehicles at Jibiya near Ramallah the same night. The march is authorised and policed annually.

The order extends the mandatory capital sentence to the military courts of the occupied West Bank, whose conviction rate B'Tselem puts at about 96 per cent, very substantially on the basis of confessions obtained in interrogation.

In "Gaza: Israel Curbs Aid, Kills Civilians During Ceasefire", Human Rights Watch recorded at least 856 Palestinians killed and 2,463 wounded since the ceasefire began; eight aid workers killed since October 2025 against 593 since October 2023; 18,500 patients awaiting medical evacuation, 4,000 of them children; 43,000 people with life-changing injuries and 50,000 requiring rehabilitation; and 19 of 37 hospitals partially functional as at 5 February. Adam Coogle, deputy Middle East director, said: "Palestinians in Gaza are still hungry, still cannot reach medical care, and civilians are still being killed." The finding is set against the Board of Peace's own claims of progress in the same period. (Human Rights Watch, 19 May 2026.)

At the Farnborough airshow Wes Streeting said of Israel that “that is the standard that I think, I fear, they have fallen short of” and, of the leaked message to Peter Mandelson, “I'm not going to pretend I didn't make those comments.” The next day Novara Media reported he had taken more than £50,000 from donors connected to Palantir and to firms licensed to export to Israel.

The appeal is expected to be heard before the end of 2026; prosecutions arising from the ban were adjourned to 26 October 2026. The organisation remains proscribed and support for it remains a terrorism offence. Ammori has cited more than 3,500 arrests connected with the proscription.

University of Bristol v Dr David Miller [2026] EAT 84 (EA-2024-000324-RS). Eight of the university’s nine grounds of appeal were rejected, leaving standing the Bristol tribunal’s finding of 6 February 2024 that the belief satisfies the Grainger criteria under s. 10 and that the dismissal was direct discrimination under s. 13. The protection attaches to the bounded formulation Miller advanced, not to anti-Zionism at large.

The regulator for England and Wales opened a fact-finding inquiry under section 46 of the Charities Act 2011, beginning with eight unnamed charities and stating that it intends to extend the number over time. It followed a complaint in June 2026 by the Labour MP Melanie Ward alleging that 32 charities had sent at least £28 million to settlements, up to £5.6 million of it subsidised by the taxpayer through Gift Aid. State of New South Wales v Farhat [2026] NSWSC 985, decided 30 July 2026 with reasons published 17 August. Refusing an extended supervision order under the Terrorism (High Risk Offenders) Act 2017 (NSW), Fagan J held the IHRA working definition “so verbose and imprecise that it could not realistically be attributed to the ordinary, reasonably informed member of the Australian public”, an attempt “to repurpose the term ‘antisemitism’”, and “detached from the reality of the common usage and understanding of antisemitism in this country”. On 31 August 2026 the New South Wales Attorney General, Michael Daley, said the State would not appeal. See §21.9.

An Israeli drone struck a vehicle near the Hamid intersection in western Gaza City, killing Wafaa Yousef Nabil Akila, aged eight, and her father Youssef Nabil Rabah Akila, and wounding six others; al-Shifa Hospital confirmed her age. Photographs taken that morning show her in school uniform on her first day back. The military first said it had targeted "a Hamas militant", then designated her father a Nukhba company commander without publishing evidence. Recorded in Part VII.

Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband described the occupation in its entirety as unlawful, accused “settler terrorists” of ethnic cleansing indulged by the Israeli government, and announced a “double prohibition on arms sales” — while the F-35 component exemption survived on the stated ground that the aircraft do not materially support the occupation. Israel closed the British Consulate in Jerusalem and banned twelve British MPs in response.

On the day the United Kingdom banned settlement imports, Israel's Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism issued a letter recommending that border authorities bar the employees and activists of eleven British organisations, among them Oxfam, Islamic Relief Worldwide, Save the Children, Medical Aid for Palestinians, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Friends of Al-Aqsa. Reported 17 September; condemned by the Muslim Council of Britain on 21 September. Recorded at §15.3C.

Issued in Jerusalem on the eve of Rosh Hashanah 5787 by seven global and regional bodies and fifty-two national and community bodies, reaffirming the IHRA working definition without reproducing either of its two limiting clauses. Two signatories, the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Jewish Leadership Council, are subject to the judgment delivered five weeks earlier.

The only documentary in the main competition, built on interviews with 24 Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers who operated the Gaza targeting systems, and named for the Hebrew military acronym for the number of civilians expected to be killed in a strike. Its premiere on 10 September drew a record standing ovation of about twenty-four and a half minutes.

A day after the documentary NAZA won the Special Jury Prize at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, Culture Minister Miki Zohar wrote that he would act “immediately to revoke the Israeli citizenship of these despicable creators for betraying the state,” and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called the two directors a “disgrace and an embarrassment.” The Culture Minister holds no such power: revocation runs under Article 11(b)(2) of the Citizenship Law, 5712-1952 through a court for administrative affairs on the Interior Minister's application, and the criteria the Supreme Court set out in Zayoud (2022) are terrorism, treason or serious espionage. §14.1C.

The letter to Shabana Mahmood rests on two named individuals, one claimed posthumously by Palestinian Islamic Jihad and one named on an Israeli allegation; proscription would make membership of or support for MSF an offence carrying up to fourteen years, on the precedent of Palestine Action in July 2025. MSF: "We would never knowingly employ people engaging in military activity."

Ten staff aboard in Gaza City, on the day UK Lawyers for Israel asked for MSF to be proscribed (§13.9).

Messina Touring Group told Rolling Stone it had been notified by venues that they would not allow a concert with Macklemore on the lineup. Seven stadiums were reported as objecting, covering eight of the last ten US dates. Ed Sheeran made no public statement. At MetLife Stadium on 4 and 5 September Macklemore had told the crowd that criticism of Israel, of apartheid and of genocide is in no way a criticism of Jewish people. Macklemore published a statement the same day naming Sheeran and his team as having made the decision, quoting Sheeran's position as “I don’t take sides”, and arguing that there is no neutral position between the oppressor and the oppressed. The passages describing private conversations are his account and are unconfirmed by the other parties.

Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir instructed the Military Advocate General, Maj. Gen. Itai Ofir, to “examine and advance possible legal actions regarding the film and those involved in it,” and ordered an examination of “information security aspects and possible individuals involved in the leaking of classified materials” — an effort to identify the twenty-four anonymous serving and former personnel who testified. He called the film “blood libels” while stating in the same remarks that he had not watched it. The same day Netanyahu called the award “shocking” on Telegram and Zohar asked the authorities to consider whether the film's making amounted to “aiding the enemy during wartime,” an offence carrying life imprisonment or death under section 99 of the Penal Law, 5737-1977. §14.1D.

The Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel asked him "to cancel his now compromised US tour" and, until then, called on "opening artists, audience members and, where possible, crew members to boycott the complicit tour." A 15 September addendum asked him to reinvite Macklemore.

Reporting by Melissa Müller identified six registered charities that appear to have sent more than £1.7 million to recipients in settlements over three years, four of them linked to Modiin Illit and the others to Alon Shvut and Ariel. Two state in their own filings that they support named settlements. None responded to the outlet; filed contact details for five did not work. The ICJP has complained to the Commission and the Metropolitan Police about one of them, and the Met said it had received 248 referrals relating to the war since October 2023 with no UK-based investigation under way. Recorded at §15.3A.

Eleven days after the MetLife set, the headline act posts a statement to Instagram: the removal “was the promoter’s decision, it was not mine”, and of the venue owners who said they would pull the shows, Kraft was “one of those people”. Every tour date is kept.

The second British jury within eight months to refuse to convict in a case arising from direct action over Gaza, after the Filton acquittals of 4 February 2026. The verdict is general, so it gives no reasons and creates no precedent.

On the night of 15 September 2026, hours after Ed Sheeran's statement on Macklemore's removal from the Loop Tour, Roger Waters posted a short video captioned "Ed Who?". He said there are "two kinds of people in this world", placed Macklemore among those who do "the right thing", and addressed Sheeran as one of the "pricks like you who do the wrong thing. Goodbye." The remark was reported the following day in the form "little prick" (§15.12).

On Fox News's panel programme The Five, host Jesse Watters questioned the stated ground for Macklemore's removal: "So what did he say that was bad?"; "He said 'Free Palestine?' Is that all?"; and "OK, well, all I heard was 'Free Palestine,'" adding, "I don't think that's hate speech." He nonetheless endorsed the outcome on proprietary grounds: "If Bob Kraft doesn't want you there ... you're gone! Who cares?" His co-host Greg Gutfeld called Macklemore "scum" for describing Israel's conduct as genocide. Recorded because a hostile witness on the programme that defended the removal could not identify anything in the remarks matching the description under which they were removed (§15.12).

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tells TMZ the matter is “not just about one music artist or two music artists” but about what Robert Kraft did “to line up all of the stadiums, to censor speech in that one specific way,” and that “we need to be very clear about how dangerous a precedent this is”; she notes the mechanism is not subject-specific (“It could be speaking out about AI”). Representative Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American member of Congress, says of the headline act’s refusal to back the removed performer that “it just shows who’s courageous and who’s not,” and that platforms are used for human rights “but it seems there’s always an exception when it comes to Palestinian lives.” The report declines to adopt Tlaib’s First Amendment characterisation, since the owner of a privately held stadium is not a state actor.

A six-page open letter from 130 lawyers and legal academics to Prime Minister Andy Burnham, a week after Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announced an import ban on goods from the illegal settlements. Signatories include former Lord Justice of Appeal Sir Alan Moses, Michael Mansfield KC and UCL professor of international law Ralph Wilde. The letter measures the measures against the obligations identified in the ICJ Advisory Opinion of 19 July 2024 and against the United Kingdom's own Russia sanctions, which reached the whole Russian economy and are not confined to occupied Ukrainian territory, and calls that contrast an improperly narrow approach. It asks for extension beyond goods to insurance, accountancy services and digital infrastructure, public confirmation that no UK public body, pension scheme or sovereign fund holds settlement investments, and a comprehensive arms embargo. The arms embargo is asked for under Article 6(3) of the Arms Trade Treaty.

Aaron Rowe, Beoga, Lukas Graham and Finneas announced withdrawals on the same day. Rowe and Lukas Graham had been booked to fill the slots the removal of Macklemore created. Finneas: "Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed." Lukas Graham: "Money doesn't give you the right to own the conversation."

The Israeli Settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (Prohibition of Importation of Goods) Act 2026 commences, making the importation of goods originating in designated settlement postal codes an offence under section 14 of the Customs Act 2015. The first EU member state to convert the ICJ Advisory Opinion’s duty of non-assistance into a domestic criminal prohibition. Goods only; services excluded.

Channel 4 News published an episode of its podcast The Fourcast titled "Paloma Faith: Ed Sheeran should QUIT TOUR over Palestine row". Asked whether Ed Sheeran should leave the remaining dates of the Loop Tour after Macklemore's removal, Paloma Faith said the question was "more nuanced than that" while stating that "ideologically it would be the right thing to do". She had already commented beneath Macklemore's own statement, calling him "a rare and important voice" and "a hero" (§15.12).

Elan Carr, chief executive of the Israeli-American Council, which circulated the 6-8 September petition seeking Macklemore's removal from the Loop Tour, was interviewed on BBC Radio 4's Today programme. He called the stage remarks "outrageous", said the performer had taken a "captive audience of tens of thousands" and gone on to "slander the State of Israel and the Jewish people", and said "he put forth a blood libel against the state of Israel, and by connection, the Jewish people". Of the slogan itself: "Free Palestine absolutely is a call for the extermination of the State of Israel and the Jewish People." He added that the performer "has no right to hijack a stage at a concert", that political statements have "no place in a concert", which "is supposed to be inclusive", and that the removal was "entirely appropriate". Carr was United States Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism from 2019 to 2021 and told the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations in Jerusalem in February 2019: "I will work to eradicate the attempted distinction between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism. There is no distinction." The stage remarks to which the characterisation was applied made the opposite distinction expressly: "Criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid, being against genocide in no way is a criticism of you."

Massive Attack posted a statement to Instagram responding to Ed Sheeran's statement of 15 September 2026: "Entertainment can never be bigger than resisting the apartheid & genocide of fellow human beings"; "'Neutrality' in the face of the slaughter of more than 20,000 children can never be neutrality"; and "no artist should tolerate the censorship of another artist, however many millions of dollars are in play". They described an "arc of state, corporate and media silence that allowed a genocide to take place" as seeking to coerce high-profile artists and actors into that silence, and closed: "We stand in solidarity with all artists risking their careers in defence of the rights of the Palestinian people" (§15.12).

Having called the removal "madness. Sheer madness" on 15 September, Garbage posted again on 16 September 2026, calling the response "a major turning point" and writing that "the global consciousness has shifted" and that normalising or sanitising an apartheid state "will no longer be tolerated". Addressing the headline act directly: "Ed, there is only one victim here: the Palestinian people." The band commended Finneas, Lukas Graham and Aaron Rowe, and ticket-holders seeking refunds, as "choosing to stand with their conscience" (§15.12).

Myles Smith, BRIT Rising Star 2025, answered calls to leave a tour he had already finished: "For everyone asking me to drop out of Ed's tour, let's get something straight: I'm not on that tour anymore." He declined to turn on Sheeran, whom he called a friend who had "put more time, care and money into making the world better than most people will ever know", and added: "My solidarity will never be selective." The Irish band BIIRD, whose final tour date was the MetLife Stadium show at which the remarks were made, posted: "We stand unequivocally behind every word he said," placing their support with the people of Palestine, with the artists who stepped away, and with "anybody that speaks up against Zionist lobbying groups". The Irish group Amble, who played Phoenix and Nashville in June, said they could not withdraw from a tour they were no longer on. None of the three withdrew, and none is counted among the four withdrawals of 15 September (§15.12).

Newsweek, drawing on Social Blade, reported that Ed Sheeran's Instagram following fell by 43,648 on 14 September, by 149,635 on 15 September and by a further 70,111 by the morning of 16 September, a total of 263,394 across roughly two and a half days, against a fourteen-day net figure of 219,000. Macklemore gained 750,098 followers in the twenty-four hours after announcing the removal, passing 7.9 million; Sheeran's count fell to 47.3 million; Aaron Rowe grew his following by 73 per cent to more than 132,000; and the five acts together gained approximately 1.6 million, more than seven times the reported loss. Limits: these are net third-party estimates rather than an audited platform record, the 16 September figure was incomplete when reported, and at least one outlet noted that no independent public record confirms the precise change (§15.12).

The British far-right activist Tommy Robinson (Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) posted on X in support of Ed Sheeran over Macklemore's removal, tagging him directly, adding an expletive remark against Palestinians and dismissing critics as "middle class brats who live in suburbia". Carried by a single outlet quoting it directly and recorded as reported there rather than as independently corroborated; no response from Sheeran or his representatives is documented (§15.12).

Forbes reports that Macklemore’s statement of 14 September has passed 7.2 million likes, and that the seven-time Formula One world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton commented on it: “Thank you for using your voice, standing with you.” Kehlani’s comment alone draws close to 400,000 likes. Forbes names Florence Pugh, Penelope Cruz, Rachel Zegler, Cara Delevingne, Amanda Seyfried, Chase Infiniti, Bella Hadid and Hozier as endorsing the post without commenting. A like is not a position and is not recorded as one.

Likud MK Hanoch Milwidsky, speaking on the mission and religious identity of the Jewish people and reported by Israel's Channel 13: “We are not like everyone else, and therefore all the laws that apply to everyone cannot apply to us,” adding that “the considerations of all kinds of statesmen from around the world should not be relevant to us.” The same legislator told the Knesset on 29 July 2024, of a detainee raped at Sde Teiman, “if he is a Nukhba, everything is legitimate to do.” Article 27 of the Vienna Convention forecloses even the stronger claim that internal law excuses non-performance of a treaty.

The ranking Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Gregory Meeks, holds the proposed sale of 20,000 MK-84 and 20,000 BLU-117 bombs; Senator Jeanne Shaheen adds a second hold on 19 September.

Answering Iqbal Mohamed MP, the Department for Business and Trade confirms that no arms export licence for Israel has been revoked or suspended since the Foreign Secretary's 8 September statement, "largely because" the relevant licences were already suspended in 2024. F-35 and trainer-aircraft components remain licensed.

The Wall Street Journal reported that representatives of Robert Kraft (New England Patriots), David Tepper (Carolina Panthers), Arthur Blank (Atlanta Falcons) and Jeffrey Lurie (Philadelphia Eagles) contacted Messina Touring Group after the MetLife Stadium show of 4 September 2026, and that the owners were told the issue of Palestine would not be raised again from the stage. Macklemore raised it again on 5 September. Three of the owners threatened to cancel their dates. Kraft and Ed Sheeran then spoke for forty minutes, Kraft expressing sympathy for Palestinians while describing the remarks as hate speech. Macklemore had been booked for ten dates and was removed from the remaining eight. The reporting corroborates the collective element of Macklemore's own account; it does not identify who gave the assurance or with what authority.

Gorillaz open their North American tour at the Kia Center in Orlando. Damon Albarn takes a Palestinian flag from the audience, holds it above his head and tells the crowd: "Don't forget this. Ever. Stand your position. Don't ever be neutral." Thirteen days after the MetLife Stadium remarks that led to Macklemore's removal, and in the same country, no venue cancels and no act is dropped. The Orlando arena is owned by the City of Orlando, not by a private proprietor.

Jonah Valdez, analysing Kraft Family Foundation tax filings back to 2006 and Kraft Group FEC disclosures, recorded $196,000 to Friends of the IDF across seven gifts each earmarked "Promote education for young Jewish soldiers", $123,000 between Brothers for Life and Friends of Israel Disabled Veterans, $150,000 to MEMRI, $63,500 to CAMERA and $50,000 to the Investigative Project on Terrorism. The removal statement had offered the donor's philanthropy, including resources "directed to Palestine", as part of its ground. No donation in the filings names a Palestinian recipient. The giving is lawful and publicly filed; it is recorded because the statement itself made it checkable.

Macklemore gave $1 million, the whole of his net Loop Tour earnings, to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, HEAL Palestine, the Gaza Soup Kitchen, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Anera and UNRWA, citing "everything that has happened over the last 48 hours". Robert Kraft matched it with $2 million, stating that Ed Sheeran had asked him for the match and that Sheeran planned to approach other venue owners to "build bridges". Rachel Accurso (Ms. Rachel) matched $1 million to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund on 18 September, writing: "I will match Macklemore's donation and I invite every wealthy white celebrity to match it and speak out against the genocide in Gaza." Mara Kronenfeld of UNRWA USA recorded more than $509,000 already directed to the agency by "Hind's Hall" and its sequel.

Israeli fire killed six across the Strip on 19 September 2026, eleven months into the ceasefire: Basir al-Bursh, eldest son of Gaza Ministry of Health director-general Dr Munir al-Bursh, struck by a drone missile as he stepped out of a tent in az-Zahra west of Jabalia and pronounced dead on arrival; a ten-year-old girl who died at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital of wounds from Israeli gunfire north of Nuseirat; one killed and at least four wounded, two of them children, by a drone strike on a vehicle in the Sheikh Radwan market; one killed in Shujayea. The Israeli military said it had struck 'several militants' including Basir al-Bursh, without giving further information. Ministry of Health figures that day: 1,386 killed and 4,784 wounded since the ceasefire of 10 October 2025.

Opening the resumed Loop Tour at Lincoln Financial Field with no support act, Sheeran called the situation in Gaza "catastrophic and unjustifiable and disproportionate", said "the systemic injustice we're seeing unfold in the West Bank cannot be overlooked", and said venue pre-approval of performer content "should never happen in the free world". He named Israel in the sentence about 7 October and named no actor in the sentence about Gaza, and cited ticket sales as his reason for continuing. In a second, unscripted address at the end of the same show he called it "the best show of my life", said friends and family had "backed away", made no reference to Gaza, the West Bank or Palestinians, and apologised "for the first bit of the show where it wasn't about music and I had to talk". Recorded at §15.12D.
